Flat, dish-shaped and other circular knives are used across film, foil, paper, paper-core, tape, rubber, nonwoven and converting operations. Machine layout and cutting method determine whether the blade runs against a mating knife, an anvil, a holder or another supported cutting system.
Material grade, hardness and bevel should be reviewed together with speed, abrasive content, cut cleanliness and the risk of chipping. A harder blade is not automatically the better choice when the installation, impact load or mating condition requires additional toughness.
For a non-standard circular blade, the approved drawing controls diameter, bore, thickness, runout-related features, holes, keyways, dish direction and edge geometry. A sample can support identification, but critical dimensions should still be confirmed before repeat production.
