Questions About This Cutting Application
Why does an uncured tread pull sideways during cutoff?
The strip may still be moving, may lack support under one shoulder, or may be dragged by a worn or poorly guided edge. Check timing and support before changing edge geometry.
Should tread temperature be included in an RFQ?
Yes. Compound tack and elastic response can change with temperature, so record the strip temperature at the actual cutting station and after any cooling section.
Can a serrated edge prevent rubber buildup?
Not automatically. Serrations change the entry action but can retain residue. Evaluate them only if the machine, required cut face and cleaning method permit that edge form.
How should cut length be measured?
Agree whether length is checked immediately or after a defined relaxation time, because uncured rubber can recover after separation.
