Drainage Composite Width Edge Trimming Blades
Width edge trimming removes a controlled margin from geocomposite drainage roll stock. Mark the retained side, facing stack, core direction and any connection zone before trial. A narrow multilayer offcut may snag even when the product edge is acceptable, while stable waste removal does not prove the kept facing bond or core channel remains sound.

Where This Cutting Application Appears
Actual supplied workpiece
Identify the actual drainage-composite layer stack before trial. TenCate describes G-Series examples with a high-compressive-strength core and nonwoven polypropylene geotextile bonded to one or both sides, plus a woven option. That example does not define every core geometry, facing, bond pattern or MEIRENTE knife specification.
Installed cutting setup
Record incoming-edge wander, retained-side datum, trim allowance, layer stack, local support, holder and offcut route.
Cut output and inspection stage
Measure final retained width and inspect the kept facing bond, fibers, core channels and roll edge before and after winding.
Width Edge Trimming process boundary
These pages concern controlled factory conversion of supplied drainage-composite roll stock. They do not set drainage design capacity, project dimensions, overlap, seam, outlet detail, installation method or field acceptance. Keep core direction, facing side and any specified bond-free or connection zone traceable.
Width Edge Trimming setup checkpoint
Mark material direction, retained layers or edges and downstream functional zones before the controlled trial.
Width Edge Trimming acceptance checkpoint
Approve a replacement only from the original tool, holder drawing and a controlled trial on the supplied construction.
Define the Required Cut Result
- Measure retained width at marked roll intervals
- Inspect the kept edge for facing lift, loose fibers and incomplete core separation
- Check retained core channels and any connection zone before and after rewind
- Record offcut snagging separately from retained-edge defects
Problems to Diagnose Before Changing the Knife
The multilayer offcut snags while the retained edge passes
Review trim width and collection route separately from retained-product limits.
Facing lifts or loose fibers appear only on the kept edge
Compare retained-side support, tool contact, bond pattern and holder condition.
Final width or core-edge profile changes along the roll
Separate incoming-edge wander, guide response, cutting contact and rewind pressure.
geocomposite drainage roll Width Edge Trimming Diagnostic
Separate supplied construction, installed contact and downstream fabrication or handling before changing a knife form.

Acceptance Criteria for a Controlled Trial
Agree how the trial will be judged before changing the knife or machine setting.

- Record offcut snagging separately from retained-edge defects
Knife Forms That May Be Considered
| Possible knife form | When it may be considered | What must be confirmed |
|---|---|---|
| Installed supported shear edge trim | Only where the station supports the actual core and facing stack. | Confirm pair geometry, holder and kept multilayer-edge sample. |
| Guided fixed edge trimmer | Only where support, guarding and the offcut route suit the supplied composite. | Confirm kept-side contact, facing protection and waste control. |

Questions About This Cutting Application
Can a knife be selected from the term geocomposite drainage roll alone?
No. Confirm the exact construction, installed equipment, original tool and measurable acceptance limits.
Must the composite offcut run continuously?
Waste handling has its own criteria; approve the retained multilayer edge separately.
Why identify one- or two-sided facing?
The layers crossing the cut and the retained bond line can differ substantially.

Supplier pages describe their own materials or equipment; they do not establish a MEIRENTE blade specification or performance claim.
