Drainage Composite Transverse Cross Cutting Blades
Transverse cross cutting releases specified lengths from geocomposite drainage roll stock. Mark core direction, facing sides, bond pattern and any connection allowance, then number consecutive sheets. Measure the released piece and inspect both ends before transfer so later core crushing, facing lift or drag marks are not automatically blamed on the cutoff blade.

Where This Cutting Application Appears
Actual supplied workpiece
Identify the actual drainage-composite layer stack before trial. TenCate describes G-Series examples with a high-compressive-strength core and nonwoven polypropylene geotextile bonded to one or both sides, plus a woven option. That example does not define every core geometry, facing, bond pattern or MEIRENTE knife specification.
Installed cutting setup
Record feed index, composite restraint, full-width support, installed stroke, facing contact and sheet collection.
Cut output and inspection stage
Measure released length, width and diagonals; inspect both ends, facing bonds and core profile before and after transfer.
Transverse Cross Cutting process boundary
These pages concern controlled factory conversion of supplied drainage-composite roll stock. They do not set drainage design capacity, project dimensions, overlap, seam, outlet detail, installation method or field acceptance. Keep core direction, facing side and any specified bond-free or connection zone traceable.
Transverse Cross Cutting setup checkpoint
Mark material direction, retained layers or edges and downstream functional zones before the controlled trial.
Transverse Cross Cutting acceptance checkpoint
Approve a replacement only from the original tool, holder drawing and a controlled trial on the supplied construction.
Define the Required Cut Result
- Measure consecutive sheet lengths, widths and diagonals
- Inspect both ends for complete facing and core separation
- Check facing bonds and core profile before and after transfer
- Compare numbered sheets with the customer-approved multilayer edge sample
Problems to Diagnose Before Changing the Knife
Released length varies while both ends look alike
Measure physical feed travel, composite slip and reference-mark tracking.
Facing fibers remain connected after the core separates
Check full-width stroke, exit-side support and final contact through the complete stack.
Core channels flatten or facing lifts only after stacking
Compare numbered sheets before and after transfer to locate handling pressure.

Acceptance Criteria for a Controlled Trial
Agree how the trial will be judged before changing the knife or machine setting.

- Inspect both ends for complete facing and core separation

Knife Forms That May Be Considered
| Possible knife form | When it may be considered | What must be confirmed |
|---|---|---|
| Supported straight cutoff | Only where the installed station supports the actual core and facing stack across the full width. | Verify blade, holder, counter-surface, stroke and both end samples. |
| Synchronized rotary cutoff | Only for an installed continuous-feed station designed for the specified composite. | Verify timing, complete layer separation and dimensions over consecutive sheets. |

Questions About This Cutting Application
Can a knife be selected from the term geocomposite drainage roll alone?
No. Confirm the exact construction, installed equipment, original tool and measurable acceptance limits.
Why inspect before and after sheet transfer?
It separates cutter effects from core compression, facing lift and drag caused during collection.
Does core separation prove the sheet is accepted?
No. All facing layers, bonds, dimensions and the retained core profile must meet the agreed criteria.

These public sources provide material, cutting-method or safety context for this guide. Supplier pages describe their own materials or equipment; they do not establish a MEIRENTE blade specification or performance claim.
