Polyester Geogrid Rotary Die Cutting Blades
Rotary die cutting is relevant only when an installed factory process makes repeated polyester geogrid parts from an approved drawing. Confirm strength direction, aperture map, pitch, minimum feature and whether the shaped grid or surrounding web is retained. This is not a default civil-site operation, and a generic film die cannot be inferred from the material name.

Where This Cutting Application Appears
Actual supplied workpiece
Identify the actual polyester geogrid construction, strength direction, aperture, yarn bundle and coating before trial. Maccaferri describes one Synteen example as high-tenacity multifilament polyester yarns woven into a stable network and PVC-coated; that example does not define every PET geogrid or a MEIRENTE knife specification.
Installed cutting setup
Record part CAD, grid orientation, aperture datum, repeat pitch, support, die/anvil interface and retained-part extraction.
Cut output and inspection stage
Measure registration and released profile against the grid datum; inspect retained bundles, junctions and coating before and after removal.
Rotary Die Cutting process boundary
These pages concern controlled factory conversion of supplied grid roll stock. They do not change the project reinforcement design, design strength, roll orientation, overlap or installation quality plan. Keep machine and cross-machine directions traceable on every sample.
Rotary Die Cutting setup checkpoint
Mark material direction, retained sides and the construction-specific datum before the controlled trial.
Rotary Die Cutting acceptance checkpoint
Approve a replacement only from the original tool, holder drawing and a controlled trial on the supplied grade.
Define the Required Cut Result
- Measure registration, repeat pitch and profile from the grid datum
- Inspect named retained bundles and junctions for nicking or splay
- Check coating condition at every critical feature
- Compare the retained shape before and after extraction
Problems to Diagnose Before Changing the Knife
Profile registration moves relative to the aperture map
Check feed pitch, grid tracking, roll slip and the registration datum.
A retained bundle or junction is damaged at one feature
Compare feature radius, local support, tool contact and grid orientation there.
The shaped grid distorts during extraction
Inspect it before removal and review bridges, support and extraction direction.
polyester geogrid Rotary Die Cutting Diagnostic
Separate supplied construction, material direction, installed contact and downstream handling before changing a knife form.
Acceptance Criteria for a Controlled Trial
Agree how the trial will be judged before changing the knife or machine setting.
- Measure registration, repeat pitch and profile from the grid datum
- Inspect named retained bundles and junctions for nicking or splay
- Check coating condition at every critical feature
- Compare the retained shape before and after extraction
Knife Forms That May Be Considered
| Possible knife form | When it may be considered | What must be confirmed |
|---|---|---|
| Installed rotary profile tool | Only where the existing machine and approved drawing require repeated grid shapes. | Verify pitch, mounting, anvil interface and retained-part samples. |
| Matched shaped tool in the approved station | Only if the fixture supports the specified aperture, bundles and minimum feature. | Verify critical features and extraction; do not infer a universal die. |

Questions About This Cutting Application
Can a knife be selected from the term polyester geogrid alone?
No. Confirm the exact grade, construction, material direction, installed equipment, original tool and measurable acceptance limits.
Is rotary die cutting a standard geogrid installation step?
No. Use this guide only for an approved factory repeated-part process.
Can the tool be selected from tensile class alone?
No. Confirm the actual grid, coating, machine interface, profile and acceptance plan.

These public sources provide material, cutting-method or safety context for this guide. Supplier pages describe their own materials or equipment; they do not establish a MEIRENTE blade specification or performance claim.
