Ceramic Green Tape Profile Cutting Blades
Profile cutting applies only when an approved drawing defines a shaped unfired green-tape blank, opening or repeated contour. Confirm printed or punched datums and whether the carrier must remain. Do not infer a waste matrix or kiss-cut liner from the material name.

Where This Cutting Application Appears
Supplied material and process stage
These pages cover dried but unfired ceramic tape in a declared conversion stage, not a fired ceramic substrate. Confirm ceramic chemistry, powder loading, binder/plasticizer system, residual solvent or moisture condition, thickness, carrier film, release state, printed or punched features, laminate state and handling direction. Kyocera shows tape casting before via punching, printing, lamination, cutting and co-firing; Forschungszentrum Jülich notes that green tape is cast on a carrier and later peeled. Those examples do not define the customer tape or a MEIRENTE tool.
Installed process checkpoint
Record CAD geometry, minimum radii, feature pitch, registration datum, printed or punched references, carrier/anvil, specified cut depth, tool sequence and scrap-removal path.
Output and inspection stage
Measure contour, feature register and pitch; inspect corner drag, bridges, face marks, carrier penetration, retained-part distortion and changes during scrap removal.
Profile Cutting process boundary
Confirm the unfired material state, carrier or laminate stack, actual machine operation and approved drawing before reviewing a replacement tool.
Profile Cutting setup checkpoint
Record formulation, conditioning, protected face, installed interface and downstream handling before a controlled trial.
Profile Cutting acceptance checkpoint
Use customer-approved green-stage dimensions and observable defect limits on labelled samples from the same material lot and settings.
Define the Required Cut Result
- Measure contour and critical features from the approved datum
- Check repeat pitch and register to printed or punched marks
- Verify specified penetration through green sheet and carrier
- Compare retained-part shape before and after scrap removal
Problems to Diagnose Before Changing the Knife
A bridge repeats at one corner or narrow feature
Compare local support, tool contact, feature radius and green-sheet variation.
The outline drifts relative to printed or punched marks
Check feed advance, lateral tracking and tool phase before changing the edge.
The profile is complete but distorts during scrap removal
Review release direction and part support independently from cut depth.

Knife Forms That May Be Considered
| Possible knife form | When it may be considered | What must be confirmed |
|---|---|---|
| Existing full-cut profile die | For a declared station separating the green sheet and any approved carrier arrangement. | Confirm CAD, die seat, anvil, depth and critical-feature samples. |
| Existing controlled-depth profile cutter | Only if a verified carrier or backing must remain by drawing. | Confirm layer-by-layer depth, runout, register and protected face. |

- Powder, binder/plasticizer and residual solvent or moisture information permitted by the supplier
- Tape thickness, width, grain or casting direction, green density range and conditioning method
- Carrier film material, release state, supported or peeled condition and protected face
- Printed conductors, vias, alignment marks, laminate stack and every no-contact zone
- Target width, size or CAD profile, datum and accepted drag, smear, lift, crack, stretch and contamination limits
- Existing feed, guide, hold-down, support, holder, blade, anvil and extraction drawings plus the current tool
- Labelled accepted and rejected samples, trial quantity, downstream inspection ownership, packing and annual demand

Questions About This Cutting Application
Can a blade form be selected from the term “ceramic green tape” alone?
No. Confirm formulation, unfired process stage, carrier or laminate stack, protected features, installed interface and accepted and rejected samples.
Does ceramic green tape always use kiss cutting?
No. Full or controlled-depth cutting depends on the actual carrier and drawing.
Can a generic outline be accepted before firing?
Use the customer’s green-stage drawing and downstream inspection plan.
Public references and scope
These public sources provide material, cutting-method or safety context for this guide. Supplier pages describe their own materials or equipment; they do not establish a MEIRENTE blade specification or performance claim. Confirm the actual grade, machine setup and required cut with a drawing or sample.
