Aseptic Beverage Carton Granulating Blades
Use granulating only for a defined screened or target-size stage. Many plants granulate a dried fibre-separated PolyAl fraction, while other processes size-reduce whole carton for a different route; name the feed and downstream objective.

Where This Cutting Application Appears
Supplied material and process stage
State whether the feed is whole used carton, baled flattened carton, fibre-rich material before pulping, or the polymer/aluminium fraction remaining after fibre recovery. Record paperboard, polymer and aluminium layers, caps or closures, moisture, residual product, inks, adhesives and bale hardware. Tetra Pak describes fibre separation in a pulper and later shredding, cleaning, separation or extrusion of the remaining PolyAl fraction; those routes do not define every plant or a MEIRENTE tool.
Installed process checkpoint
Record fibre content, PolyAl state, caps, moisture and prior cleaning; map incoming size, rotor/bed knives, clearance, screen, recirculation, air separation and discharge.
Output and inspection stage
Measure retained size fractions, oversize and fines; inspect film wrapping, fibre dust, aluminium-rich pieces, cap fragments, screen loading and separation behaviour.
Granulating process boundary
Confirm that the customer operation, feed condition and approved drawing match this process before reviewing a replacement tool.
Granulating setup checkpoint
Record the installed interface, feed controls, material condition and downstream handoff before a controlled trial.
Granulating acceptance checkpoint
Use customer-approved dimensions, safety controls and observable defect limits on labelled samples from the same feed and machine settings.
Define the Required Cut Result
- Report the complete output-size distribution
- Record film wrapping, fibre fines, caps and screen loading separately
- Evaluate liberation or separation using the plant-approved method
- Repeat at the approved moisture and prior-cleaning condition
Problems to Diagnose Before Changing the Knife
Polymer film wraps while caps or foil-rich pieces recirculate
Review feed composition, incoming size, clearance, screen and discharge separation.
Fibre fines increase in a nominal PolyAl stream
Confirm fibre-separation efficiency and feed moisture before altering cutter geometry.
Screen output meets size but air separation is unstable
Evaluate shape, bulk density and liberation, not nominal size alone.

Knife Forms That May Be Considered
| Possible knife form | When it may be considered | What must be confirmed |
|---|---|---|
| Existing granulator rotor and bed-knife arrangement | For the documented carton or PolyAl stream. | Confirm seats, knife count, clearance, screen, feed and cleaning access. |
| Existing secondary shear stage | Only where the process uses shearing before screening or separation. | Confirm cutter/counter-tool relationship, feed state, guarding and discharge. |

Questions About This Cutting Application
Can a blade form be selected from the term “aseptic beverage carton” alone?
No. Confirm the exact feed construction, process stage, installed interface, current tool and accepted and rejected samples.
May whole cartons and PolyAl use one granulator setting?
Not by name alone; their fibre, polymer, aluminium and moisture states differ.
Is nominal particle size enough for acceptance?
No. Shape, fines, wrapping and downstream separation also matter.
Public references and scope
These public sources provide material, cutting-method or safety context for this guide. Supplier pages describe their own materials or equipment; they do not establish a MEIRENTE blade specification or performance claim. Confirm the actual grade, machine setup and required cut with a drawing or sample.
