Technical Fleece Fabric Transverse Cross Cutting Blades
Cross cutting separates technical fleece fabric across the web into sheets, panels or repeated lengths. Define length and squareness after agreed relaxation, and mark course/wale or declared knit direction and pile direction, face, back and transfer direction.

Where This Cutting Application Appears
Supplied material and process stage
“Technical fleece” is not one fixed construction. Declare fibre content, knit or other base structure, weight and thickness, raised-pile face, brushed or grid surface, stretch and recovery, directional nap, backing or laminate and finishing state. Polartec describes synthetic fleece as a knitted material transformed through surface finishing and offers different weights and knit structures; those examples do not define every fleece roll or a MEIRENTE tool.
Installed process checkpoint
Record course/wale or declared knit direction and pile direction, construction, stretch state, feed datum, tension, hold-down, transverse support, blade motion, counter-surface and transfer or stacking path.
Output and inspection stage
Measure consecutive lengths, widths and diagonals; inspect both ends and corners for pile compression, loop or yarn pull-out, fibre shedding, stretch recovery and face marking, then compare pieces before and after transfer.
Cross-Cutting process boundary
Confirm the complete fabric construction, direction, installed motion and approved drawing before reviewing a replacement tool.
Cross-Cutting setup checkpoint
Record conditioning, relaxed measurement, protected faces, installed interface and downstream handling before a controlled trial.
Cross-Cutting acceptance checkpoint
Use customer-approved dimensions and observable defect limits on labelled samples from the same style, lot and settings.
Define the Required Cut Result
- Measure consecutive lengths, widths and diagonals after approved relaxation
- Inspect both transverse ends and corners for pile compression, loop or yarn pull-out, fibre shedding, stretch recovery and face marking
- Verify course/wale or declared knit direction and pile direction and face orientation on released pieces
- Compare dimensions and surface condition before and after transfer
Problems to Diagnose Before Changing the Knife
Length or squareness changes while both ends are fully separated
Compare feed travel, clamp slip, tension, relaxation and measurement timing.
Only the exit end or one corner shows pile compression, loop or yarn pull-out, fibre shedding, stretch recovery and face marking
Review final-stroke support, blade path, material direction and counter-surface on that side.
Pieces pass at the cut but distort, shed or mark in transfer
Track numbered pieces before and after pickup, stacking and relaxation.

Acceptance Criteria for a Controlled Trial
Agree how the trial will be judged before changing the knife or machine setting.

Knife Forms That May Be Considered
| Possible knife form | When it may be considered | What must be confirmed |
|---|---|---|
| Existing supported straight cutoff | For an installed line restraining the declared technical fleece fabric through separation. | Confirm stroke, holder, hold-down, support and counter-surface. |
| Existing synchronized rotary cutoff | Only where continuous feed and cutter phase are controlled. | Confirm timing, runout, cross-web support and consecutive released pieces. |
Information to Send for Technical Review
You do not need to know the exact blade name. Send the available workpiece, machine, current-knife and cut-result information so the application can be reviewed against a drawing or sample.
- Supplier style, fibre composition and whether the supplied roll is single fleece, grid knit, bonded laminate or another documented construction
- Base knit or web structure, weight, thickness range, pile height, brushed faces and directional nap
- Stretch and recovery in both directions, relaxed width, approved conditioning and measurement method
- Face and back, laminate or membrane if present, coating or finish, roll direction, splice map and protected surfaces
- Target width, length or CAD profile, datum and accepted pile crush, shedding, pull-out, distortion and mark limits
- Existing unwind, guide, hold-down, blade, holder, counter-surface, rewind and waste-path drawings plus the current tool
- Labelled accepted and rejected samples from the same style, lot, finish and conditioning state
- Trial quantity, downstream sewing or lamination inspection ownership, cleaning, packing and annual demand

Questions About This Cutting Application
Can a blade form be selected from the term “technical fleece fabric” alone?
No. Confirm construction, direction, finish, stretch state, protected faces, installed interface and accepted and rejected samples.
Why record material direction before a trial?
The course/wale or declared knit direction and pile direction can change dimensional recovery, edge behavior and defect appearance.
Does a clean cut approve the finished product?
No. Sewing, bonding, sack forming, garment performance or other downstream validation remains the customer’s responsibility.
Public references and scope
These public sources provide material, cutting-method or safety context for this guide. Supplier pages describe their own materials or equipment; they do not establish a MEIRENTE blade specification or performance claim. Confirm the actual grade, machine setup and required cut with a drawing or sample.
