Drip Irrigation Tape Rotary Die Cutting Blades
Use rotary die cutting only when an approved drawing defines a repeated inlet, notch or other feature at a documented tape-manufacturing stage. A finished drip tape does not need an inferred hole pattern merely because it contains emitters.

Where This Cutting Application Appears
Supplied material and process stage
Identify the manufacturing stage before selecting a knife. Confirm whether the input is a flat parent web before folding or welding, a formed empty tube, or finished flattened drip tape with a seam and installed emitters. Record wall construction, thickness range, tape width, emitter position and pitch, seam position, roll direction and the permitted no-cut zones. Netafim publishes thin-wall dripline examples with defined wall thicknesses, diameters and internal drippers; that example does not define the customer tape or a MEIRENTE tool.
Installed process checkpoint
Record feature drawing, pitch, longitudinal and transverse datum, future seam and emitter relation, web or tube state, cylinder phase, anvil and waste path.
Output and inspection stage
Measure feature size and registration; inspect bridges, overcut, polymer stretch, loose slugs, wall marking and any effect on seam or emitter assembly.
Rotary Die Cutting process boundary
Confirm that the customer operation, feed condition and approved drawing match this process before reviewing a replacement tool.
Rotary Die Cutting setup checkpoint
Record the installed interface, feed controls, material condition and downstream handoff before a controlled trial.
Rotary Die Cutting acceptance checkpoint
Use customer-approved dimensions, safety controls and observable defect limits on labelled samples from the same feed and machine settings.
Define the Required Cut Result
- Measure feature geometry and position from the approved tape datum
- Verify relation to seam, fold and emitter assembly on a mapped sample
- Inspect bridges, opposite-wall marks, loose slugs and retained-web damage
- Record waste ejection and collection faults separately
Problems to Diagnose Before Changing the Knife
Feature pitch walks relative to emitter positions
Compare web stretch, feed ratio, phase, registration marks and assembly pitch.
A slug stays attached or enters the water path
Review cut-depth control, support, ejection, static and collection.
The opposite wall is marked or pierced
Confirm whether a flat web or formed tube is being processed and inspect the counter-surface relationship.

Acceptance Criteria for a Controlled Trial
Agree how the trial will be judged before changing the knife or machine setting.

- Verify relation to seam, fold and emitter assembly on a mapped sample
- Inspect bridges, opposite-wall marks, loose slugs and retained-web damage
- Record waste ejection and collection faults separately
Knife Forms That May Be Considered
| Possible knife form | When it may be considered | What must be confirmed |
|---|---|---|
| Existing registered rotary die | For a line already controlling repeat, phase and counter-surface relationship. | Confirm approved drawing, cylinder, mounting, runout, depth control and waste path. |
| Existing indexed punch or reciprocating die | Only where the installed equipment uses a supported registered stroke. | Confirm tool seat, stroke, counter-surface, registration and ejection. |

Questions About This Cutting Application
Can a blade form be selected from the term “drip irrigation tape” alone?
No. Confirm the exact feed construction, process stage, installed interface, current tool and accepted and rejected samples.
Does every drip tape require die-cut features?
No. Only a real manufacturing drawing and process establish this operation.
Can emitter pitch alone define the die?
No. Web state, feature geometry, datum, phase, support and waste handling are also required.
Public references and scope
These public sources provide material, cutting-method or safety context for this guide. Supplier pages describe their own materials or equipment; they do not establish a MEIRENTE blade specification or performance claim. Confirm the actual grade, machine setup and required cut with a drawing or sample.
